it is very close to the design of the SMART that has been sold for over ten years already in europe and that is going to be introduced in the US soon for 12000$
30mpg in town and 45mpg on highway, i bet there are a lot of car makers out there that want to discredit such initiative for multiple reason. Every body is sckeptical mainly about security and resistance of a car produced for such a competitive price ( the current cheapest car in the world is I believe a Nissan for $4000) but once again it could prove to be a “smart” move to address changes in pattern behavior and commuting in emerging countries.

Mumbai’s traffic is intense and the equal question , is such an affordable car is going to make so many motorcycle family owners switch to a car, therefore increase the level of pollution in India. I am curious to see how a small car like that would compare with a bad motorcycle’s gaz emission rate…

I am sure it is going to work very well for a lot of emerging market countries especially in Africa and the middle east thought.
